Nina Brugel, M.Ac., Dipl.Ac., L.Ac., LLC
Licensed Acupuncturist
My interest in acupuncture began when my husband first went to a practitioner for pain relief. I noticed how he seemed calmer, slept better and was less reactive after his treatments. I thought that I wanted some of that type of support in my life, so I became an acupuncture patient, too. My own experience was one of ease in my body’s aches and pains and one of support in my emotional life. I found the system of Five Element acupuncture to be fascinating and poetic. I wanted to learn more, so I went to the Maryland University of Integrative Health and earned my Masters in Acupuncture. I have been in private practice in Vienna since 2013.
My undergraduate work was done at Penn State University. I studied Public Service and then moved to the Washington, D.C., area and worked on Capitol Hill in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Before attending MUIH, I was home with my three children for 20 years. During that time, I volunteered with wonderful, smart and engaging people in the elementary, middle and high schools that my children attended.
I enjoy working with this ancient, nature-based form of medicine. The interactions with my patients are at once both amazing and energizing. I love the energetic movement that we create together. It is a gift to be able to work with my clients as they find their way towards greater health and wellness.
